Mark Thomas

Partner, Cambridge

Mark Thomas is a founder and Partner of MCP. He is a member of the Investment Committee and he serves on, or chairs, the Board of Directors of several portfolio companies, where he assists leaders of those companies execute value-enhancing company development and growth programs.

He was also one of six original founders of Monitor Company. At Monitor Group, Mark led some of the firm's most important consulting relationships in the fast-moving consumer goods, beverage, primarily metals and on-line gaming industries. He currently is a member of Monitor's Board of Directors, serves as Chair to its Audit Committee and sits on the Finance and Investment Committee. Prior to Monitor, Mark was a senior consultant at Bain & Company.

Mark received a B.Sc. with First Class Honors in Chemical Engineering from Queen's University. He worked as Process Engineer with CIL, ICI's Canadian affiliate where he became a Certified Professional Engineer. He then attended Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration where he earned a M.B.A. with High Distinction.

Mark also serves as chairman of the board of Monitor Capital, an affiliate of Monitor Group responsible for the evaluation of a small number of Monitor-initiated merchant banking activities. He is a board member of Vistaprint, NV, and of F.C. Greater Boston as well as a trustee of the Fenn School located in Concord, Massachusetts.
