Hinkley Yachts to Open Palm Beach Sales Office; Michael Silverman
to
Direct Sales in Southeast
Southwest Harbor, Maine, September 13, 2001. The Hinckley Company
is opening a new sales office in Palm Beach, Florida, announced
Ralph Willard, President and CEO of The Hinckley Company.
Michael Silverman, who has served as Director of Sales for Little
Harbor Yachts in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, for the past twelve years,
will move to Florida to lead Hinckley's sales efforts in the Southeastern
United States. Silverman will work with Eric Champlin, Hinckley's
Southeast Sales Director, who transferred to Florida last year from
Hinckley's main office in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Leigh-Anne Larson
completes the Florida-based sales team.
Hinckley acquired The Ted Hood Companies, better known as Little
Harbor, in March 1999 and is now integrating the sales and marketing
efforts of the two companies.
Both Hinckley and Little Harbor have a very strong presence in
the Southeast," Mr. Willard said. "For boats like ours,
Florida and the other Southeastern states are our largest market
by a wide margin. With both Mike and Eric in place, we will have
two experienced sales executives, one from Hinckley and one from
Little Harbor. Their combined talent and depth will help insure
that we can meet all the needs of our customers."
The new office will be located at One Clematis STreet in West Palm
Beach. Both Hinckley and Little Harbor yachts will be available
at the nearby Palm Harbor Marina for demonstration and sea trials.
In July, The Hinckley Company announced that it had acquired a
full service boat yard in Stuart, Florida. This yard, formerly known
as David Lowe's Boat Yard, is now a part of the Hinckley Yacht Services
division. It will launch and commission new Hinckley and Little
Harbor yachts detined for Florida customers. It will also provide
refit and repair services for its local market.
The Hinckley Company of Southwest Harbor, Maine was founded in
1928 and is one of the world's premier builders of semi-custom sailboats
and jet boats. In addition to its boat-building operations, the
company provides maintenance, repair and storage services, as well
as operating yacht brokerage and charter services in Maine, Rhode
Island and Florida.
