Hinkley Yachts Introduces the New Talaria® 29 "Runabout"

T29 R-The Runaboat of the Jet Line
by Scott Wood

This chic 29-foot yacht with retro-styling, space-age hull construction and the patented JetStick® integrated handling system is our latest addition to the growing line of semi-custom, water jet propulsion boats. Call the Talaria® 29 "Runabout" and to be known as the T29 R™, this sporty jet boat was designed by Bruce King and was then engineered to be fully appointed from stem to stern for endless hours of entertaining on the water.

Hot on the heels of the launching of Hull #1 of the T29 C center console, the T29 R has a retro-styled helm with a raked compound curved windshield trimmed with varnished teak and a cockpit that is almost as large as the 36-foot Picnic Boat's. We believe both will be very popular because they are such terrific family boats. They are safe - no props, superior construction and engineering - and with JetStick, these boats are easy to handle. Both boats are ideal for outings on the ocean or intracoastal waterways, and we think they'll prove especially popular in lakes and rivers.

The "roadster" of Hinckley's jet boat line, the T29 R is a true performer in both speed and agility. The standard 370-hp Yanmar diesel will achieve top speeds of 40 mph.

The T29 R's low-drag hull shape and 18-degree transom deadrise will assure a dry, fast and seaworthy ride. An optional 440-hp engine upgrade is available for those who must have even more speed. Weighing in at only 7,500 pounds, the boat has a fuel capacity of 100 gallons giving her a range of 260 nautical miles. Her 18-inch draft will allow her to venture into extremely shallow waters. And the bow thruster and Hinckley's JetStick give the owner pinpoint handling accuracy.

Swivel seats for helm person and navigator, a plush, wraparound settee for four, an aft-facing settee for two and our traditional stern seat bring the seating capacity up to ten. A sink with pressurized water and insulated cooler build into the engine box complete this on-the-water-entertaining platform. The forward cabin, finished in satin varnished cherry sheathing with a v-berth forward and VacuFlush toilet, provides the basics in creature comforts. A varnished teak table, bimini and drop curtains can also be ordered as an option. We have already received three orders with Hull #1 scheduled to launch in August 2002.
