The Hinckley Company Opens Offices in Michigan and Monaco
Pine Trees in Monaco? Lobsters in Lake
Michigan?
by Ed Osgood, Vice President, Sales
During the last few months, The Hinckley Company has been hard
at work expanding our horizons and transplanting our New England
traditions to different locations.
We are pleased to announce that The Hinckley Company has selected
Edmiston & Company of London and Monaco to represent us in Europe.
Edmiston & Company is a well respected, international yacht
brokerage and charter firm, and we are excited to be associated
with Nick Edmiston and his crew. Chris Craven, based in Monaco,
spent the better part of last fall working with us at the US boat
shows, followed by weeks of downeast indoctrination in Southwest
Harbor and at our Jet Boat shops in Trenton, Maine. Chris has hands-on
experience in building, maintaining and operating the Hinckley Jet
Boat line. While in Trenton, he worked in the composite shop laying
up hulls and then moved on to our Picnic Boat, T40 and T44 boat-building
operations. Chris joined Edmiston & Company after a successful
eight-year career as a captain in the Welsh Calvary Regiment and
one year in the French Foreign Legion. We are very happy to have
Chris working for us in Europe. Our Picnic Boat demonstrator is
presently berthed in Monaco, soon to be joined by our new T-29 C.
If you are traveling in the South of France or cruising in the Mediterranean
this summer, please check in with Chris.
Planning a cruise to the northern Lake Michigan this summer? Be
sure to stop in at Bay Harbor and say hello to Eric Roos at our
new sales office. We will be open this spring equipped with a T44
and a T29 at the dock for sea trials. Eric attended teh Chicago
and Detroit boat shows this winter and the response to the Picnic
Boat was very exciting. Before joining The Hinckley Company two
years ago, Eric was the captain of Windcrest, Hull 2 of Hinckley
70.
Hinckley Florida is in full swing. Our new yard in Stuart is dishing
up a mix of Southern hospitality and Yankee boat service know-how,
and our sales office in Palm Beach is very busy with the T29, Picnic
Boat, T40, and T44 berthed across the street for sea trials. Eric
Champlin, who opened our Florida office last year, has been joined
by Mike Silverman and, of course, Bob Hinckley continues to provide
a valuable senior presence during the winter selling season. Please
make a point to stop off and see our yard in Stuart and our new
office in Palm Beach.
Jim Wetherald and Chris Fairfax in Ports-mouth, Rhode Island, and
Phil Bennett, Steve Keiser, Bob Pooler, Bob Hinckley, and John Corea
in Southwest Harbor, Maine, are getting ready for the summer season
and the great cruising that New England is so famous for. Here's
to fresh winds and a fair current!
