SmartTrack Software Expands SmartMail Capabilities
08/20/01 - SmartMail, a leading mail expediter, now offers business
mailers expanded services, streamlined processing and faster delivery
times thanks to powerful new proprietary software called SmartTrack.
Developed during the past year and implemented last week, SmartTrack
delivers immediate advantages as well as powerful potential for
long-range improvements.
"I like to compare our former software to a '56 Chevy. It
was fabulous for it's time, but we couldn't add lots of new options
to it," said Jim Martell, SmartMail's CEO. "Now we have
moved up to a powerful Lexus with the ability to add new features
and options as we continue to grow. We couldn't add a GPS system
to a '56 Chevy, but we sure can add it to a Lexus!"
The new software allowed SmartMail to double it's product line
from two types of mail, flats and lightweight parcels, by adding
capabilities for machinable parcels and expedited bound printed
matter. All four services carry a 1-4 day delivery commitment.
SmartTrack also centralizes the invoicing process and produces
reports with additional data related to the number of mail pieces,
exact weight, precise postage per piece, AddressID reporting, ZIP
Code corrections, proof of processing, account balances, tracking
information, and even electronic invoices for customers who want
it.
Customers will also benefit from ever-improving delivery times
because SmartTrack provides a dynamic way for the porcessing centers
to adjust to peak volumes, schedule changes, and critical entry
times at the U.S. Postal Service.
SmartMail collects business customers' flats and small parcels,
individually processes them, verifies the weight and address of
each piece and routes them to the final USPS delviery destination
through a combination of the USPS's expedited services network along
with SmartMail's own expedited delivery network, maximizing delivery.
SmartMail provides state-of-the-art tracking, accuracy and cost
savings.
