In February 2001, MCP purchased a significant stake in Hinckley,
the premier yacht building and yacht service company in the
United States. Through its two divisions, The Hinckley Company
(Southwest Harbor, ME) and The Ted Hood Company (Portsmouth,
RI), Talaria designs and builds luxury powerboats and sailboats
and operates two full service boatyards. In addition, Hinckley
also operates yacht brokerage, yacht charter and yacht design
businesses, a retail store and a related catalog business.
The Company’s brand names, including the Picnic Boat,
the Talaria, Sou’wester, Little Harbor and WhisperJet,
are well-known in the pleasure boating industry as representing
quality, style, craftsmanship and performance.
